Aw Boon Haw Museum in Zhongchuan, Yongding, Fujian, China Receives Honorific Recognition by Chinese

At present, five organizations have been nominated to recognize the Fifth Batch of Kunlunguan battle site museums, Longyan City. Aw Boon Haw Museum is one of the selected nominations.

Aw Boon Haw Museum is situated in the Zhongchuan, Yongding, Fujian. In 1983, after the State implemented the policy of returning family property to the Aw family, the Aw Boon Haw Foundation sponsored secondary funding to renovate the Haw Par Mansion. In September 1994, it was formally opened into Aw Boon Haw Museum. In the same year, Miss Sally Aw Sian, representing the Aw family, donated the Yongding Aw Boon Haw Museum to the Yongding County People’s Government. The Museum has become an educational base to disseminate Chinese culture – a good story of China – and to carry forward the spirit of overseas Chinese patriotism.

The “Chinese overseas Chinese international cultural exchange base” is the main body overseeing “The China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese” with “Returned Overseas Chinese and Chinese dream” as the main theme. Meanwhile, the Museum has also become an exchange platform to promote the local and national cultural exchange between China and foreign countries. Coupled with the first selection of the Fujian Tulou Museum, Longyan City, a total of two museums were selected as "Chinese overseas Chinese international cultural exchange base".
